If specimen will not be received within 30 minutes from draw time, double spin to achieve platelet poor plasma. Tansfer 1.5 mL of platelet poor plasma into each of two (2) Standard Tranport Tubes (i.e. 3 mL of plasma split into two tubes). Freeze prior to transport and ship on dry ice.

*Patients should not be on anticoagulant (warfarin, heparin, or LMWH, etc.) for 10 days. Testing includes: aPTT and DVVT. If normal, no further testing is performed. If DVVT test indicates a possible lupus anticoagulant, DVVT confirmation is performed. Additional testing when the aPTT is prolonged will include a protime and mixing studies. Please indicate if you do not want reflex testing performed.*
